 Sodus Development is a full-service real estate development firm based in St. Petersburg, Florida. We lead our own projects and also collaborate with local landowners and investors to bring their visions to life.

About Us

Cullen Mahoney

 Cullen Mahoney is the Founder and Principal of Sodus Development. He brings hands-on experience in planning, acquisitions, entitlements, design and construction. 

Cullen holds a J.D. and Masters in Law with a focus in Real Property Development from the University of Miami School of Law. Prior to founding Sodus, Cullen worked on large scale luxury condos, and multi-family projects for Related Group and Continuum Company. 

Cullen is the principal lead on all Sodus projects with a focus on value- driven execution, efficiency, and long-term success for investors, and the communities involved.

Steven Platzer

Steven oversees all accounting and financial reporting functions for Sodus Development, bringing a deep background in construction-focused accounting to the company’s operations. His experience working with closely held contractors and real estate groups gives him a strong command of project-level financial controls, tax-efficient structuring, cost-tracking, and compliance—critical components of our development platform.

Steven is a Certified Public Accountant and a Certified Construction Industry Financial Professional. He holds a Master of Accountancy from Auburn University’s Raymond J. Harbert College of Business, where he received the MAcc Leadership Summit Award for Outstanding Online Student, and a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration in Accounting from the University of Central Florida.
